New Delhi: The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology has announced the implementation of the changes in the monthly emoluments of research scholars working in its affiliated institutes. The order to this effect was issued on February 08, 2024.
Effective from January 01, 2023, research scholars will receive an increased stipend for Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Senior Research Fellow (SRF), and Research Associate – I, II and III.
The previous stipend for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) was Rs. 31,000, but it has now increased to Rs. 37,000.
Senior Research Fellows (SRF) previously received Rs. 35,000 as a stipend, and it has been raised to Rs. 42,000.
For Research Associate I, the stipend has gone up from Rs. 47,000 to Rs. 58,000. Research Associate II’s stipend has increased from Rs. 49,000 to Rs. 61,000.
Research Associate III now receives Rs. 67,000 as a stipend, up from the previous amount of Rs. 54,000.
