Technology unplugged @ IIT Delhi ‘Open House 2016’

The 12th edition of annual exhibition to be held on April 23 is curated to showcase extensive collection of innovative projects by the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi), a leading research institute in India has invited public to the twelfth annual Open House on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the IIT Delhi premises. Guests will be left mesmerized to get an insight into the revolutionary research work, student projects, and numerous advanced facilities and laboratories available in IIT Delhi.

IIT Delhi has always been known for its projects and research driven curricula. The projects on display are the hallmark of the students’ program representing student’s finest work. People will get to experience live displays of pioneering projects and research developed by students, staff and faculty; technical workshops by experts and a walking tour of the on-campus laboratories will be some of the highlights of this one of its kind exhibition.

IIT opens its gates to public: The exhibition is open and free for the public from 10 am. Demonstrations for the public will close by 2 pm, but laboratories will stay open for visitors till 4 pm.

Speaking about the annual technical exposition, Prof V Ramgopal Rao, Director IIT Delhi, said, “Annual IIT Open House represents the culmination of an year of unmatched innovations at IIT Delhi. The exhibition provides an opportunity for public to experience our student’s state-of-the-art vision. Like every year we are confident that this year too will witness thousands of partisan’s line up to catch a glimpse of the visionary innovations”

IIT Open House 2016 will include educative sessions such as 3D Vision and Holograms by Prof Joby Joseph. An internal team of IIT Delhi would also be evaluating the posters and demos of research projects on display. The Alumni Association of the Institute will award prizes for the best posters and demos at a later date.
