Medanta posts ₹8,830 million revenue in Q1 FY2025 with plans for 500+ bed super-specialty hospital

Consolidated total income rises 11.1%; EBITDA surges up by 4.5% with EBITDA margins at 23.6% highlighting new advancements across facilities

New Delhi: Global Health Limited, known for its Medanta brand reported a notable increase in total income in Q1 FY2025, which rose by 11.1% to ₹8,830 million compared to the same period last year.
The company achieved an EBITDA of ₹2,082 million, marking a 4.5% year-on-year growth, with EBITDA margins reaching 23.6%. Net profit also saw a positive growth of 4.2% year-on-year, totaling ₹1,063 million, though the PAT margin slightly decreased to 12.0% from 12.8% in Q1 FY2024.
The first quarter results highlighted an increase in in-patient volumes by 10.3% and a 7.3% rise in average occupied bed days, reflecting the growing demand for Medanta’s services. The company also expanded its facilities with 49 new census beds in Gurugram and 18 additional dialysis beds in Patna. Revenue from international patients reached ₹475 million, while the out-patient pharmacy segment saw robust growth with a 26% increase in revenue.
Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman & Managing Director of Medanta, expressed, “On July 22, 2024, we received confirmation from the Mumbai Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) regarding our successful bid for a land parcel measuring 8,859.24 square meters at Mauje-Oshiwara, Jogeshwari, Mumbai. This pivotal step marks Medanta’s entry into the dynamic Mumbai market, where we plan to establish a state-of-the-art, 500+ bedded super-specialty hospital. This facility will set new benchmarks in healthcare delivery, providing world-class medical services and advanced treatment options to the residents of Mumbai and surrounding regions.”

Medanta has also announced its entry into the Mumbai healthcare market with a new 500+ bed super-specialty hospital, following the acquisition of a substantial land parcel in Jogeshwari. The Gurugram facility has unveiled a new Mother and Child care floor, featuring 50 beds, including 25 for neonatal care. Medanta Lucknow has achieved significant milestones, including successful CAR-T Cell therapy for leukemia and its 50th liver transplant. Gurugram’s ophthalmology department has reached impressive surgery milestones, and heart experts have made notable progress in diagnosing and treating complex cases of AL cardiac amyloidosis.
