New Delhi: Dr Sushil Jain, Senior Consultant in General, Anorectal, Laparoscopy & Gastroenterology Surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, received the esteemed Dr Bhupen Hazarika Award at the 45th Beltola Bohagi Utsav in Guwahati, Assam.
This accolade recognizes Dr Jain’s exceptional dedication to serving humanity and his significant contributions to pediatric cancer care.

This year’s three-day event, held from April 19th to 21st, featured renowned artists, dance performances, and traditional ceremonies. One of the festival’s highlights was the presentation of the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Award, named after the legendary Assamese musician and Bharat Ratna awardee.
The award honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to society while upholding Assam’s rich cultural heritage. It includes a memento of Dr. Hazarika, a muga Gamosa, a paat Chelleng cheleng, a Rhino memento, a Jaapi, and a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakhs, each symbolizing Assamese culture and tradition.
