New Delhi: The Government of the Republic of Ghana has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bengaluru-based Posspole Private Limited to accelerate agricultural modernization, rural infrastructure development, and electronics manufacturing in West Africa.
The agreement was signed between Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Minister and Presidential Advisor for Agriculture and Agribusiness, Republic of Ghana, representing the Government of Ghana, and Kiran Rudrappa, CEO of Posspole Pvt. Ltd., during the Minister’s visit to the company’s facilities in India.
The MoU will enable collaboration on product co-development, localized manufacturing in Ghana, and deployment of smart agri-tech solutions. Key focus areas include container-based modular farm housing, solar-powered irrigation systems, precision agriculture using drones, smart public infrastructure, and electronics assembly for devices such as laptops and servers.
Speaking about the development, Kiran Rudrappa, CEO of Posspole, said, “This partnership bridges Ghana and India to advance agriculture, grow industries, and build skilled talent. Ghana is on track to be West Africa’s agri-tech and electronics hub, and Posspole is proud to be part of that journey.”
Under the first phase, scheduled for August–September 2025, both parties will finalise execution strategies. Pilot projects will begin in October, including agri-drone field trials in select Ghanaian regions and the setup of electronics assembly units. The third phase, post-November 2026, will target full-scale product deployment, regional exports, and ecosystem scaling.
The partnership will prioritise smart agri-infrastructure, solar-powered irrigation, cold storage, farm housing, food packaging, and agribusiness logistics. It will be implemented under a public-private partnership model, combining co-investment in local manufacturing, PPP-led rural infrastructure projects, and joint centres of excellence for skill development and technology transfer.
Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Minister and Presidential Advisor for Agriculture and Agribusiness, Republic of Ghana, said the initiative aligns with Ghana’s ambition to become a manufacturing and innovation hub for West Africa while boosting youth employment and rural productivity. “Access to advanced technology and skills will accelerate Ghana’s agricultural transformation and industrial base,” he noted.
Follow-up visits and review delegations are scheduled in the coming months to finalize factory sites, assess pilot results, and chart the joint ecosystem roadmap.
