Biopharmaceuticals are new age medicine produced using recombinant DNA technology using microbial or mammalian cell, whereas Biopharmaceutical Product Development is developing products for patients using these drugs by formulation and analytical development. Biopharma provides targeted treatment and fewer side effects, beneficial for patients suffering from cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, immune diseases, and other critical diseases otherwise difficult to treat. Soon, over a billion people around the world will benefit from this innovative approach to treating diseases.
The question is, where does India stand in the global supply of these drugs? Major research is focused on the development of these products and optimizing the process for delivering them in lesser time.
Dr. Ratnesh Jain and his research team at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai are working towards the development and process optimization of such drugs.
In 2017, Dr. Jain extended his research and laboratory facility to stimulate and encourage discussion as well as innovation of new technologies in various sectors of the biopharmaceutical industry under the umbrella of the Biosimilar Workshop! The team along with various supporting industries has successfully trained over 1000s of participants in the biopharmaceutical research domain.
The workshop is exclusively curated with events-
♦ Leadership Conclave, where you get the rare opportunity to listen and meet leaders of the Biopharma industry
♦ 12 Parallel Scientific Workshops on Biopharmaceutical Product Development, where experts from industry and academia will deliver talks on biopharma product development and more.
♦ Research Poster Presentation, gives a platform for young researchers to present their research and invite a quality of opportunities
♦ Biopharma Exhibition aims to introduce the new technologies and methods developed by the industries in recent time
♦ Biopharma Start-up and Innovation, serves as a steppingstone for the newcomers and mid-startups of the industry.
Through this one-of-a-kind venture, the organizers hope to bring about fruitful interactions between academia and the biopharma industry.
