The conference will explore Prof. Swaminathan’s vision of an Evergreen Revolution, which merges traditional agricultural practices with advanced technologies to tackle global challenges related to food, nutrition, and climate change.
Prof. Swaminathan has been a pivotal advocate for sustainable agriculture, emphasizing the importance of fair pricing, resource access, and farmers’ rights. The M.S. Swaminathan Global Leadership Award 2024 will also be presented, and an exhibition showcasing farmer producer organizations and other stakeholders will be held.
On August 8, the conference will continue with sessions focused on integrated coastal system management to strengthen resilience and equity, climate resilience policy and practices, and innovations in agriculture and allied sectors. The event will conclude with a plenary panel discussion on the Evergreen Revolution and its role in achieving sustainable food security for the future.
The conference will gather a diverse group of stakeholders, including scientists, researchers, policymakers, NGOs, farmers’ associations, youth leaders, and representatives from international organizations.
