New Delhi: SS Innovations has made history by completing India’s first human telesurgery trial, demonstrating a groundbreaking leap in medical technology.
The historic telesurgery trial, a robotic cholecystectomy, was conducted flawlessly between the World Laparoscopy Hospital and the SSI Headquarters, covering a distance of 5 kilometers. This surgery utilized Airtel’s fiberoptic network, highlighting the potential for quality healthcare delivery in remote areas, further promoting the Make in India initiative by showcasing indigenous innovation on an international stage.
Alongside this significant achievement, the company has unveiled its latest advancement, the SSI Mantra 3. This cutting-edge system is set to revolutionize the field of robotic surgery with its advanced features, enhancing precision and patient outcomes.
The SSI Mantra 3 boasts five slimmer robotic arms and an immersive 3D HD headset, providing surgeons with superior optics and control. The vision cart, which offers 3D 4K vision to the entire surgical team, further ensures unmatched precision. The SSI Mantra 3 enables smaller incisions, resulting in less pain, minimal blood loss, reduced scarring, faster recovery, and shorter hospital stays. These innovations aim to make advanced surgical technologies more accessible and affordable for healthcare institutions globally.
In a notable development, Dr. Fredric Moll, widely regarded as the father of surgical robotics and founder of Intuitive Surgical, has joined SS Innovations International Inc. as a Board Member and Vice Chairman. Dr. Moll’s contributions to the field of robotic surgery have been instrumental in advancing the technology.
