Joint workshop was focused on techno-commercial assessment of TRL 6 & technologies at CSIR-CDRI

New Delhi: Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Government of India is assessing and compiling indigenous innovations developed by labs, academia and startups. TIFAC is think tank for technology vision for the country.
In this endeavour, TIFAC is convening workshops jointly with a nodal organization in different parts of the country. CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI), Lucknow hosted one day TIFAC-DSIR-CDRI Joint Workshop in the area of Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Medical Sciences.
Director CDRI applauded TIFAC team for setting up such initiative. Members of industries E-Spin Nanotech Pvt Ltd, Kanpur, Adamya Herbal Care, Lucknow, Era Medical College, Lucknow, government organizations from CSIR-CDRI, KGMU Lucknow, IIT-Kanpur, NIPER-Raebareli presented their technologies.
The program also had very informative panel discussion on challenges to technology transfer and solutions towards commercialization. Panellist team comprised of eminent scientists and entrepreneurs: Dr. Radha Rangarajan, Director CSIR-CDRI, Shri Pulak Ranjan Basak, Scientist G, TIFAC, Prof. Shubhini Saraf, Director, NIPER- Raebareli, Dr. Shradha Goenka, Managing Director, Biotech Desk Pvt Ltd.
There were discussions on challenges faced by entrepreneurs while opening a company. Probable solutions were also put forward for example, design thinking, and learning from pre-developed product in market.
