New Delhi: Aster DM Healthcare has announced plans to launch its largest Women & Children’s Hospital in Hyderabad. The 300-bed facility, spread over 3 lakh square feet, will address the growing healthcare needs of women and children, providing specialized and comprehensive care in obstetrics, gynecology, neonatal, and pediatric services.
The healthcare giant will invest approximately Rs 220 crores in this world-class project, set to be fully operational by the last quarter of 2026.
With 100 critical care beds, 10 modular operating theatres, and luxury birthing suites, Aster Women & Children’s Hospital aims to raise the bar for maternal and pediatric healthcare in South India. The hospital will also be equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a Cath lab, CT, MRI, ECMO, IVUS, EBUS, and ERCP facilities, enabling it to offer advanced maternal and pediatric care. The hospital will also provide round-the-clock emergency services, enhancing its ability to respond to medical complexities with precision and speed.
The new facility is the second Women & Children’s hospital in Aster DM Healthcare’s network, complementing the existing Bangalore hospital. The hospital’s location in Hyderabad, a recognized healthcare hub, positions it to serve not only the city but also attract patients from across the region and beyond, thanks to the city’s growing prominence in medical tourism.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder & Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, emphasized, “Aster Women & Children Hospital Hyderabad will set new benchmarks in obstetric and pediatric healthcare, offering a wide array of super-specialty services. The new hospital is in line with the group’s mission and commitment to delivering quality and affordable healthcare to the large population of not only Hyderabad but all of South India.”
He added, “The focus on the unique healthcare needs of the children and women underscores our dedication to addressing the healthcare needs. The hospital will offer cutting-edge multidisciplinary women and child care that will be steered by highly skilled medical professionals dedicated to providing world-class care and the highest safety standards.”
Hyderabad’s rapid urbanization and an increasing middle class have led to rising demand for specialized women’s and children’s healthcare services. Positioned in an area with a predominantly young migrant population, the new hospital will meet a critical healthcare need, particularly with few full-fledged Women’s & Children’s hospitals currently offering high-end super-specialty services in the region.
In addition to its healthcare services, Aster DM Healthcare is also looking at long-term expansion across India. The company plans to add 2000 beds by FY27, bringing its total bed count in India to over 6,800. This expansion will involve both organic and inorganic growth, with new facilities such as Aster Capital in Trivandrum and Aster MIMS in Kasargod, alongside bed capacity increases in existing hospitals. The company has earmarked Rs. 1,200 crores for this expansion and is also exploring entry into new markets such as Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
Currently, Aster DM Healthcare operates Aster Prime Hospital, a 204-bed multi-specialty hospital in Ameerpet, Hyderabad. The upcoming launch of the Aster Women & Children’s Hospital will further bolster its presence in the city and expand its services to meet the evolving healthcare needs of its patients.
