New Delhi: Bartronics India Limited (BIL) is accelerating its evolution into a unified rural technology platform with plans to launch a voice-first, multilingual AI-powered agritech application in March, following the successful completion of pilot programmes in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
The pilot phase demonstrated strong farmer engagement, supported by assured off-take linkages through partnerships with SNN and Origo Commodities. Insights gathered from field deployments and farmer interactions are now shaping the next phase of the platform’s development, focused on deeper engagement, data-driven intelligence, and scalable adoption across rural India.
A major enhancement ahead of the launch is the integration of AI-enabled voice interaction across multiple regional languages, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, and Kannada. Feedback from farmers and benchmarking of existing agritech platforms revealed that voice-based interaction is the most intuitive and trusted mode of engagement in rural environments.
The AI voice recognition and conversational agent framework is being developed by Ampivo Smart Technologies, which specialises in intelligent voice-agent deployment for real-world applications. The voice interface is expected to transform the application from a transactional tool into a conversational digital assistant, reducing digital barriers and improving accessibility for farmers.
Once launched, the application will support multilingual voice navigation, proactive alerts, contextual advisories, farmer education modules, and interactive knowledge support, aimed at improving adoption and outcomes across the agricultural value chain.
The platform will also capture structured, consent-based farmer data, creating a digital foundation to connect farmers with electronic mandis (eMandis) and broader agricultural marketplaces. Over time, this data layer is expected to enable participation in climate and sustainability-linked initiatives, including carbon credit programmes, opening new income opportunities while promoting sustainable farming practices.
Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director of Bartronics India Limited, said the initiative reflects the company’s farmer-centric approach to technology design.
He noted that insights from the pilot confirmed the importance of a voice-first engagement model, adding that the upcoming launch represents a foundational step toward building a “unified rural intelligence layer” connecting farmers to markets, climate opportunities, and long-term value creation.
Under Project Avio Agritech, Bartronics aims to onboard 20 million farmers over the next three years, leveraging the company’s extensive rural network and digital infrastructure.
