New Delhi: A joint statement from the Heads of Governments of India and France has announced a partnership between C-CAMP and PariSanté Campus to establish an Indo French Life Sciences Sister Innovation Hub.
The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms, India’s premier science and technology innovation hub in the life sciences domain has inked a pact to launch a bilateral innovation collaboration in the healthcare domain called the Indo French Life Sciences Sister Innovation Hub with PariSanté Campus, a leading digital health innovation cluster in France.
After detailed discussions, both sides identified two focus areas – One Health and Digital Health Technologies. The intent is to enable targeted innovative solutions from one geography for challenges impacting another. The aim is to foster links between both the hubs so as to enhance science-based entrepreneurship, research, academia and businesses by leveraging upon each other’s ecosystems.
PM Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron during bilateral talks at the Paris AI Summit have formally announced the partnership in a joint communiqué. More on the statement here.
Welcoming this landmark joint statement to boost bilateral healthcare innovation collaborations, C-CAMP Director-CEO, Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, said, “We are delighted to have our LoI with PariSanté Campus to be formalised by the highest leadership of the two countries. This clearly indicates the urgency of intent between the two countries to improve the quality and delivery of healthcare for the larger society. The partnership’s first goal would be to galvanise global networks of excellence and leverage mutual ecosystems to support researchers and innovators developing cutting-edge solutions from one geography to the other.  C-CAMP and PariSanté Campus will play the central role in enabling this.”
The Consul General of France in Bangalore, Mr. Mark Lamy also shared his excitement on this partnership, saying, “The Letter of Intent between C-CAMP and PariSanté Campus for Indo-French Life Sciences Sister Innovation Hub will bring together the best of innovation hubs from our two countries to work together on two very important areas: One Health and Digital health. This partnership will pave the way for groundbreaking innovations. Indeed, the French government that I represent is very proud to see the emergence of such a collaboration and we will keep on supporting the scientific and academic cooperation between our two countries.”
The LOI was signed on 10th February 2025 by Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, Director-CEO of C-CAMP and Pr. Antoine Tesnière, Director, PariSanté Campus.
The primary focus of the LoI remains the milestone agreement to jointly facilitate research and innovative solutions in a bilateral manner. This is more critical since it would initiate for the first time deeper co-operation by the two countries in terms of breaking barriers for the greater goal of mitigating challenges in the crucial UNSDG domain of healthcare. The other notable point is the two key areas to be addressed which have the potential to impact healthcare access and equity not just in Global North but also in the South.
The first initiatives of the LoI will be announced soon.
