CSIR-CDRI scientist Dr P R Mishra has been elected as a fellow of NASI

Lucknow: Dr Prabhat Ranjan Mishra, Senior Principal Scientist, Pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics Division, CSIR-CDRI has been Elected as a Fellow of National Academy of Science, India (NASI). NASI is a registered scientific body, the oldest Science Academy of India, recognized as a Professional Body by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India and as Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation by the DSIR, Government of India.

The recognition will be awarded during the 89th Annual Session of NASI and Symposium on “Science and Technology based Entrepreneurship Development” during December 21-23, 2019, at ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad.

Targeted nano-therapeutics

Dr Mishra has received this recognition for his outstanding contribution in mechanistic understanding of targeted nano-therapeutics through ligand receptor interactions, receptor-mediated endocytosis and endosomal pH responsiveness to achieve higher therapeutic index with low toxicity of drugs.

Dr Mishra has significantly contributed in translational research based on targeted nano-therapeutic to achieve enhanced therapeutic efficacy of drugs with special emphasis on Cancer, Bone health and parasitic diseases. His findings are well documented in peer reviewed research articles and patents.

Dr Mishra has been honoured with several National Awards including prestigious TATA Innovation Fellowship (2018-19) by DBT Govt of India, INSA-DFG Fellowship (2008), Fast track Young Scientist by DST, India. He has also been visiting scientist at Free University Berlin, Germany.
