New Delhi: Deakin University, Australia on 11th March announced an Honorary Doctorate to Ms Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman and Managing Director, Biocon Limited. The Honorary Doctorate is to felicitate Ms Mazumdar-Shaw’s long-spanning achievement in the field of health, science and technology. It celebrates how she has set an example for creating a strong narrative for women leadership in India and reiterates Deakin University’s aim towards encouraging careers of the future.

The university has also partnered with Biocon to give away one 100 percent scholarship for on-store studies at Deakin University, Australia in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) either at undergraduate or post-graduate level.

“The Deakin-Biocon scholarship aims to deliver integrative education in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics that will encourage the student to be a future innovator”, expressed Ms Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson & Managing Director, Biocon Limited.
