New Delhi: Smriti Zubin Irani, Minister of Women & Child Development and Minority Affairs, Govt of India today while announcing the FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards 2022 said that it is imperative for organizations like FICCI to institute platform for excellence at regional, state level and even at village level.
“It is the excellence which is celebrated at the grassroot level which will be our greatest achievement as an organization,” she added.
Speaking on the Indian healthcare sector, Ms Irani said that the sector during the pandemic, the industry stood up and proved to the world by not only manufacturing essential health equipment and vaccine but ensured saving number of lives. “The fact that we as a country could witness the administration of 200 crore doses in a definite timeline speaks volumes about the capacity of the Indian healthcare industry,” she added.
She also emphasized on the importance of partnership between the private sector and the government in managing any crisis.
Mr CK Mishra, Former Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare & Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, GoI and Jury Chair, FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards 2022 said that there is a need for more investments to be made in the primary sector and the private sector can play a critical role in this. As a nation, we need to strive to ensure people don’t fall sick rather than treating the sick patient, he added. “Digitization is one of the strongest enablers of the healthcare system,” highlighted Mr Mishra.
Mr Mishra also emphasized that Indian healthcare sector needs more public-private partnership in funding the pilot projects. We need to ensure that the pilot projects are further scaled up and not just keep at initial stage only, he added.
Mr Gautam Khanna, Chair, FICCI Health Services Committee and Awards Jury Co-Chair & CEO, PD Hinduja Hospital & MRC said that FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards has proven itself to be one of the best awards in the healthcare sector for its transparency and robust process involvement.
Mr Arun Chawla, Director General, FICCI said that during the pandemic, we have all learned to be resilient, innovate with the changing situation, get inspired by our colleagues, and collaborate beyond businesses and beyond borders. He further said that FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards recognize those individuals and organizations that have dealt with the challenges in the most unprecedented times and yet demonstrated excellence in their domain
