New Delhi: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant launched the Goa’s first agriculture drone, marking a historic moment, and announcing Drone Didi initiative in Goa. The government plans to deploy 10 more drones to empower women farmers.
Dr. Pramod Sawant also inaugurated the Kharif Mechanised Sowing of Paddy 2025.
On this occasion Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said that, “The state’s collective vision is clear to make Goa a model of self-reliant, tech-enabled, and farmer-first development. It is a proud moment to witness Goa’s vibrant farming community come together for this transformative step in our agricultural journey.”  He further added, “We remain committed to realising the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by transforming it into a lived reality through Swayampurna.”
The Goa government is promoting mechanized paddy cultivation while working to revive fallow and khazan lands across the state. Goa’s comprehensive agricultural policy framework—encompassing schemes such as Kisan Credit Card (KCC), PM-KUSUM, PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, and the recently introduced Goa State Amritkal Agricultural Policy 2025—is facilitating innovation, advancing sustainability, and contributing to the overall economic well-being of the state’s farming community.
