New Delhi: After being sworn in as Prime Minister of India for the third time, Narendra Modi has signed his first file authorizing release of 17th instalment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.
The fresh instalment of PM Kisan Nidhi will distribute around Rs 20,000 crores, benefiting about 9.3 crore farmers.
After signing the file, PM Modi said, “Our government is fully committed to farmers’ welfare. It is therefore fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to farmer welfare. We want to keep working even more for the farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come.”
PM Kisan Nidhi is an initiative by the government of India that give farmers up to Rs 6,000 per year as minimum income support. The initiative was announced during the 2019 Interim Union Budget of India by then Union Minister Piyush Goyal on February 01.
