NATHEALTH community expresses strong commitment to TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan

Top industry leaders commit to adopting nearly 10 percent of enrolled population under Ni-Kshay Mitra 2.0

New Delhi: A delegation of NATHEALTH member organizations met Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, with the objective of discussing immediate steps and express commitment to Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan by offering comprehensive support to Persons Living with TB.
The meeting was a high-level deliberation to mobilize private healthcare sector for Ni-Kshay 2.0 and work towards Government of India’s End-TB goal 2025.
Around 50 industry leaders and CEOs representing the entire healthcare ecosystem of hospitals, diagnostics, medical technology, banking and finance, artificial intelligence, senior care, medical education and pharma, attended the interaction session.
The discussion focused on mobilizing thousands of individuals from the sector to register as Ni-KShay Mitras on the digital platform for community support, identifying mechanisms to deliver medicines and food baskets to beneficiaries and developing the IEC materials to raise awareness among beneficiaries. Technology and AI support, medical supply chain streamlining and special assistance for patients with drug-resistant TB were also discussed.
Dr Shravan Subramanyam, President, NATHEALTH said, “Today’s meeting with the Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, was a very important opportunity to discuss key actions required to offer 360 degree support to Persons Living with TB in India on a mission mode. NATHEALTH is strongly committed to India’s innovative ‘Adopt a TB Patient’ initiative under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The aim is to  to ensure quality care, nutrition, medical services, technology and diagnostic support and mitigate the high burden of costs borne by patients and their families”.

The objectives of Ni-Kshay Mitra 2.0 under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan is to provide additional support to improve the treatment and outcomes of TB patients, augment community involvement and leverage CSR opportunities. This initiative is part of the Government’s Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of India, its people, culture and achievements, and in 2047, India would be celebrating 100 years of independence and self-reliance.
