Orchid Pharma makes key appointments for its newly opened AMR division

New Delhi: Orchid Pharma has announced key appointments to strengthen its leadership team as it embarks on a mission to tackle Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

The company has appointed Dr. Prabhu Vinayagam as Medical Advisor for its newly formed division, Orchid AMS, and hired Amitabh Mazumdar as GM- Sales & Marketing.

Dr. Prabhu brings extensive experience in healthcare leadership and antimicrobial stewardship to his advisory role at Orchid AMS. With a distinguished career that includes pivotal roles at Becton Dickinson, as Managing Director at Joint Commission International – Asia Pacific, and Group CEO at Mandalar Group of Hospitals in Myanmar, Dr. Prabhu is well-positioned to spearhead Orchid Pharma’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. His strategic acumen and operational leadership in healthcare settings, particularly in reducing Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) and data-driven decision-making, will be instrumental in optimizing antibiotic use and combating AMR.

Amitabh Mazumdar joins Orchid AMS with over 30 years of expertise in marketing, sales, and team leadership within the pharmaceutical industry. His previous roles at GSK, Mylan (Viatris), and Merck Serono have equipped him with the skills to effectively launch and manage the life cycles of renowned brands using innovative sales and marketing approaches. Mazumdar’s experience in launching three new business units will be crucial in driving Orchid AMS’s growth and success.
