Vijayawada/Hyderabad: As per Andhra Pradesh government, it has administered first dose of Covid-19 vaccine to 96.86% of citizens aged 45 years. 38.33% of citizens aged between 18-45 have been administered with their first dose. The daily positivity rate in the state stands at 2.14% and weekly positivity is 2.23%. While the recovery rate stands at 98.60%, the mortality rate is 0.69%.
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a review meeting with the health department of the state. During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to take the necessary steps to incorporate PG courses in the newly constructed medical colleges, courses on public health administration are to be included as well, and ensure that training sessions should be provided and availed by Paramedics at said medical colleges.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure continuous monitoring and observation of Public Health, tests for water quality, air quality, and any other health-wise aspect should be available and take place at Village clinics. The Chief Minister also directed officials to work on a strategy that can aid in boosting the infant mortality rate in the state.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials to strengthen the online database of citizens’ health records, with immediate updates on any health condition progression being documented and identification card details made available. All information on this online portal should be updated and available to doctors for a better prognosis. The Chief Minister also tasked officials with conducting detailed research on medications and new modalities to better battle Covid -19 in the next wave.
