New Delhi: Apollo Hospital Lucknow has introduced the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system. This makes it the first private hospital in Uttar Pradesh, excluding the NCR, to offer this state-of-the-art surgical system. The introduction of the fifth-generation Da Vinci Xi is set to revolutionize surgery in the region, offering enhanced precision and minimal incisions.
Dr. Mayank Somani, MD & CEO of Apollo Hospitals Lucknow, expressed his enthusiasm at the launch event, stating, “The Da Vinci surgical system has played a leading role in robotic-assisted surgery for nearly three decades, with over 14 million successful surgeries worldwide. The Da Vinci Xi surgical system is expected to significantly improve the quality of surgeries, particularly in pediatric cases, while also boosting medical tourism and driving economic growth in Uttar Pradesh. Apollo Hospitals Lucknow has a strong track record with robotic surgery, having successfully performed over 100 robotic knee surgeries in the past year. With the addition of the Da Vinci Xi system, the hospital is expanding its robotic surgery services to include specialties such as oncology, urology, cardiac surgery, bariatric surgery, gynecological surgery, general surgery, thoracic surgery, and pediatric surgery.
