New Delhi: The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) has launched comprehensive efforts to enhance cleanliness and clear long-standing matters under the “Swachhata Hi Seva 2024” initiative and “Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters” (SCDPM 4.0). The campaign aims to streamline administrative processes while promoting cleanliness across all DBT offices and autonomous institutions.
In line with this objective, the Department and its autonomous bodies, along with Public Sector Undertakings (17 locations) across the country chalk out a detailed plan for the campaign. These efforts are already in full swing, with a focus on ensuring that both indoor and outdoor spaces are well-maintained and free of clutter.
A key meeting, chaired by the Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, was held to discuss strategies for the effective implementation of these initiatives. Attendees included heads of scientific cadres and divisional heads who participated in person, while directors from 13 Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) institutions, RCB Faridabad, ICGEB New Delhi, and other public sector undertakings joined via virtual conferencing.
The discussion centered on detailed planning for Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 and SCDPM 4.0, with a focus on reducing pending matters such as VIP references, public grievances, and record management. Additionally, the campaign will tackle the disposal of scrap materials, beautification of office spaces, and overall cleanliness of outdoor environments.
To amplify outreach, the DBT has planned an active presence on social media, with regular updates on activities conducted under the campaign. The Nodal Officer and the Secretary of DBT are closely monitoring the progress to ensure the timely execution of these initiatives, reinforcing the department’s commitment to cleanliness and efficiency.
