New Delhi: DKMS Stiftung Leben Spenden has officially launched the call for applications for the prestigious DKMS John Hansen Research Grant 2025.
This international grant program aims to advance cutting-edge research in stem cell transplantation and cell therapy for hematological diseases, with up to four promising projects receiving €240,000 each for three years. Young scientists across the globe who have completed their doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent achievements) within the past decade can apply until November 20, 2024.
“It is very important to us to pursue our mission sustainably and to continuously improve the basic medical requirements for successful stem cell donations and therapies,” said Professor Dr. Marcel van den Brink, Chairman of the DKMS Medical Council. “We are pleased to support talented young scientists with the DKMS John Hansen Research Grant and allow them to realize their promising research projects for the benefit of patients worldwide.”
Now in its eleventh year, the grant has become an essential stepping stone for many early-career researchers in the field. Dr. Esteban Arrieta-Bolaños, a previous recipient and research associate at the University of Duisburg-Essen, shared, “The DKMS John Hansen Research Grant has enabled me to develop my own line of research and become an independent researcher in the field of leukemia and stem cell transplantation.”
