Former AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Gulera joins Medanta

Medanta appoints Dr Randeep Guleria as Chairman of Institute of Internal Medicine and Respiratory & Sleep Medicine and Director of Medical Education

New Delhi: Medanta has appointed the former AIIMS-Delhi Director, Dr Randeep Guleria as the Chairman of the Institute of Internal Medicine & Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. Dr Guleria will also take over the role of Director of Medical Education at the India’s leading private hospital.
Globally regarded for his extensive experience and exceptional contribution to India’s COVID response effort, Dr Randeep Guleria is also known for pioneering work in the field of lung cancer, asthma, COPD, respiratory muscle functions and sleep disorders. The distinguished and decorated persona is a Padma Shri awardee and a recipient of the prestigious Dr B.C. Roy Award as well.

BioVoice Special IssueDr Guleria played a key role in setting up a dedicated department of pulmonary medicine and sleep disorders at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 2011. He is also associated with the World Health Organization (WHO) as a member of its Scientific Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on immunization and influenza vaccination. Dr Guleria is part of the editorial boards of several medical journals such as the JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association (India), Indian Journal of Chest Diseases, Lung India and Chest India.
