Global Fintech Fest 2024: Satyukt Analytics showcases satellite remote sensing technology

New Delhi: Satyukt Analytics showcased its satellite remote sensing approach at the Global Fintech Fest 2024, held in Mumbai. The event provided a platform for Satyukt to present its innovative solutions, which aim to increase crop yields and reduce input costs, particularly for small and marginal farmers.

Dr. Sat Kumar Tomer, Founder and CEO of Satyukt Analytics, participated in a key panel discussion titled “Smart Farming – Emerging Trends and Opportunities for Agritech Startups.” During the discussion, Dr. Tomer highlighted how Satyukt is leveraging satellite remote sensing technology to deliver effective and scalable alternatives to traditional farming methods. This approach eliminates the need for costly on-farm hardware and instead offers data-driven solutions for soil nutrient management, pest and disease control, and irrigation optimization.

Dr. Tomer emphasized the challenges faced by farmers in India, where over 14 crore farmers—along with around 30 crore small and marginal farmers in other developing countries—often struggle with limited access to advanced farming tools. Satyukt’s innovative technology aims to address these challenges by providing affordable and accessible solutions that can be scaled across large populations of farmers.

In addition to discussing the current impact of satellite remote sensing on agriculture, Dr. Tomer also shared his vision for the future. He noted that ongoing advancements in satellite technology, driven by improvements in smartphone penetration, internet access, processing power, and the availability of satellite data, are paving the way for a new era in agriculture. These advancements are expected to empower a wide range of stakeholders in the agricultural value chain, from farmers to government agencies, enabling them to make informed decisions that drive sustainable growth.
