Govt transfers 2 acres of IARI land to Veterinary Council of India

New Delhi: The union government has approved the proposal for transfer two acres of land from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi to the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) on lease basis for a period of 99 years at a total lease rent of Rs 8,01,278/- @ Rs 1 per sq. meter per year. The approval was given at the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 05, 2016.

The VCI will expand its activities related to upgradation of skill of inservice Veterinary professionals by conducting short courses on latest update in research areas of Animal Sciences. After establishing the facilities, VCI will start additional activities and benefits passed to rural population in the country which will spur economic growth and employment generation in the country.
