New Delhi: ImpactGuru.com, India’s leading healthcare crowdfunding platform, has received Rs 40 lakh grant in the form of matching funds from The Action COVID-19 Team (ACT), to scale fundraising for Personal Protective Equipment for doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers across India. ImpactGuru will add upto 20% in matching donations via the ACT Grant on every single donation for selected Public and Private Hospitals on its platform.
Funds will be directly transferred by ImpactGuru and ACT to suppliers of PPE to ensure 100% transparency in the utilization of funds.
India, with a population of 1.3 billion, has just 11.54 lakh registered doctors – a terribly skewed ratio of 1:1126. The already insufficient number of doctors and healthcare workers at Public and Private Hospitals are at a huge risk of contracting COVID-19. Data from other countries in Europe and Asia has shown that the crisis deepens when healthcare workers get infected as it adds to the victims while subtracting from our defenders.
The availability of high quality personal protective equipment (PPE) such as N95 masks, hazmat suits, face shields and many others will help safeguard healthcare workers against the possibility of Covid-19 infection.
Piyush Jain, Co-Founder and CEO, ImpactGuru.com said, “I thank ACT for this grant to accelerate our fundraising efforts behind this cause and for bringing as many partners as possible to scale this mission. On behalf of ImpactGuru, I hereby make an appeal to doctors, healthcare workers, hospitals, do good citizens, nonprofits, corporates/CSR, startups, socio-religious organizations, influencers, and philanthropists to join this mission by starting crowdfunding campaigns, donating, or providing more matching funds for this noble cause.”
