Midmark pledges nanotech support to Make In India of the medical devices

Mumbai: Midmark India, a global leader in providing medical, dental and veterinary equipment solutions, inaugurated its revamped manufacturing plant in Umbergaon, in the Valsad district, in the state of Gujarat, recently. The new state of the art manufacturing facility was inaugurated by Mr John Baumann, President and Global CEO, Midmark Corporation.

Working in tandem with the Indian governments’ “Make in India” initiative, the plant at Umbergaon not only showcases Midmark’s commitment to supply 100% indigenous medical devices and equipment for India’s growing healthcare needs, but also to significantly enhance its commitment in the Indian market. As such, the state-of-the-art will now see an increase of 40% in its production capacity.

The facility is spread across 13,665 square meters divided in unit I & II, with room for expansion based on business needs. Midmark India also leads the industry by introducing Nano technology  for the first time in the patient positioning equipment  manufacturing process in the country. The new production line is expected to further enhance the end product quality and longevity,  reduce the process cost and also comply with sustainable manufacturing practices that have become a global norm. The plant is expected to automate at least 90% of the production cycle, thereby reducing human intervention and expanding manufacturing capacity significantly.

Commercial production at the new facility is expected to begin during 1^st week of July’2017.
