New Delhi: Mohan Babu University’s School of Pharmaceutical Sciences recently hosted the IRPBMS-2024 conference, focusing on “Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry in Health Sciences.” This three-day event brought together esteemed researchers, academicians, healthcare professionals, and industry experts to discuss enhancing collaboration, aligning research goals, and promoting innovation in health sciences.
The conference served as a dynamic platform addressing key areas essential for achieving industrial synergy. Discussions centered on fostering collaboration through joint research initiatives, consortiums, and industry involvement in setting research agendas. The event emphasized effective communication strategies between academia and industry, breaking down barriers, and promoting mutual understanding. Practical training for students and researchers, considerations for intellectual property management, and funding incentives were also highlighted. Inspiring case studies showcased how academic research can transform into impactful health technologies, underscoring the significant benefits of such partnerships and inspiring future collaborations.
A key highlight was the interactive panel titled “Exploring Cutting-Edge Innovations in Pharmaceutical, Biosciences, and Medical Sciences.” Reflecting on the conference’s significance, Mr. Vinay Maheshwari, Executive Director & Trustee of Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust (SVET), stated, “The IRPBMS-2024 conference is vital for fostering knowledge exchange between academia and industry. Distinguished panelists included Dr. Srinivas Nanduri, Ph.D., Professor from the Department of Chemical Sciences at NIPER-Hyderabad; Dr. William Carey Mamidipalli, Registrar of the Andhra Pradesh Pharmacy Council in Guntur; Dr. Kalyan Akula Chakravarthy, Vice-President at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in Hyderabad; and Dr. Praveen R, Senior Director of Medical Affairs at Biocon Biologicals Ltd in Bengaluru.
