Neuberg Diagnostics & Meditrina host CME on interventional cardiology & genomic medicine

New Delhi: The Continuing Medical Education (CME) event organized by Neuberg Diagnostics and Meditrina Hospital in Kollam brought together over 50 esteemed experts from Kerala and Tamil Nadu to delve into the latest advancements in interventional cardiology and genomic medicine.

Led by Dr. Blessvin Jino, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Meditrina Hospital, and Sushma Patil, Lead Genetic Counselor at Neuberg Centre for Genomic Medicine, the event aimed to shed light on new horizons in interventional cardiology and the integration of pharmacogenomics into modern healthcare practices.

Dr. Jino’s presentation on “New Horizons in Interventional Cardiology” provided valuable insights into emerging trends and technologies in the field, while Patil’s session on “Integrating Pharmacogenomics in Modern Day Healthcare practice and the pivotal role of genomics in hereditary screening” emphasized the pivotal role of genomics in hereditary screening and personalized medicine. She highlighted how an individual’s genetic makeup influences drug metabolism, the risk for adverse drug reactions, and determining the ideal dosage based on different pharmacogenomics guidelines like the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC).
