New Delhi: Saluting the spirit of independence and Make in India initiative, Mr Suresh Vazirani and Mrs Mala Vazirani of Transasia Bio-Medicals, pioneers of Indian In-vitro Diagnostic industry, delivered a lecture at Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day celebrations.

The function started with the unfurling of the national flag through the hands of Dr Jitendar Sharma, MD and CEO of AMTZ, and Mr Vazirani. The ceremony took place in the presence of a large gathering of representatives from AMTZ as well as Transasia Bio-Medicals.

Later during the day, Mr Suresh Vazirani, Chairman and Managing Director, Transasia Bio-Medicals addressed the gathering on how he made manufacturing in India a reality. He emphasized on the need to manufacture medical devices in India to counter the dependency on imports. “I feel proud to be a citizen of a progressive nation and I am glad that I am able to contribute to the health of this country. I started Transasia with a conviction that some day India would have its own indigenously manufactured medical devices that would meet the diagnostic needs of the country. I am happy that as India’s leading IVD Company, we have been successful in setting up four manufacturing facilities in India and provide employment to many,” he said.

Mrs Mala Vazirani, Executive Director, Transasia Bio-Medicals, mentioned, “When we started off, we had a tough time convincing doctors, that an Indian manufactured instrument could work as efficiently as any other. In the last 40 years, we have come a long way, both of us, our senior management team and every member of the Transasia family. Today, with over 65,000 installations across India and the largest field force comprising sales and service experts, I am honored that Transasia is recognized as a trusted name not only in the country but also globally. We are glad to be associated with AMTZ in further strengthening the Make in India initiative.”

The session concluded with felicitation of Mr. Suresh Vazirani and Mrs. Mala Vazirani by Dr Jitendar Sharma.
