Jaipur: Everyone considers cancer to be a critical and non curable disease and even today just by hearing the name people tend to get fearful, but that’s completely fallacious. The real truth is that Cancer is absolutely curable if treated in right time with right medication. To propagate awareness about the same and to honor the extraordinarily brave survivors Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (BMCHRC) celebrated ‘16th Cancer Survivors Day’ by organizing a ‘Cancer Survivors Rally’ on 18th February, 2017.
Princess Diya Kumari of Jaipur, was the chief guest for the occasion and flagged off the ‘Cancer Survivors Rally’ at BMCHRC which culminated at Entertainment Paradise. All cancer patients and survivors from across the state being treated at BMCHRC participated in the rally.
Students from Kamla Poddar Group of College, JCERC University, SMS Nursing College , BMCHRC Nursing College , Subodh B.Ed College, Udyan Institute, Kanodiya College, Jaipur Roller Sports Association and member of Jain ladies society , Jaipur actively participated and joined the survivors to contribute to the cause.
Besides in order to commemorate Cancer Survivor’s Day, students of Kamla Poddar College presented a street play on fight against cancer and Skaters from Jaipur Roller Sports Association also performed to add to the excitement.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks extended by Mr Vimal Chand Surana, Managing trustee, BMCHRC.
While attending the ceremony Ms Shashi Shobhawat, Cancer Survivor from Jodhpur said “After knowing that I am suffering from breast cancer the entire family was badly traumatized. But after visiting BMCHRC and being treated by Dr Ajay Bapna I was able to regain my confidence. Also the moral support extended by Dr Bapna made me registered myself in Guinness Book of World Records by hand crafting a Croatia blanket of 11148.5 Meters. Today I am leading a healthy life and would like to strongly convey that if you have will to excel no disease can beat you ever.”
Yet another cancer kid actively marked his presence. 13 year old master Hitesh from Karoli was detected with severe blood cancer in September 2016. Currently he is being treated by Dr. Upendra Sharma at BMCHRC and recovery is commendable. Taking into account the weak financial condition of Hitesh’s father he was treated under Donate a Life Scheme for which Hitesh’s father feels indebted and considers it as an act of god. Also 11 year old Baby Meenu suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia was present with all the vigor. Meenu’s ones disheartened parent are today on the seventh cloud of happiness because their daughter has shown wonderful recovery after receiving the treatment from Dr Upendra Sharma at BMCHRC.
