COVID-19: TCS launches digital learning course for health workers

New Delhi: TCS iON, a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, announces Corona Warriors, a free online self-certification course on its digital learning platform. It aims to prepare frontline health workers with prevention and control measures. 

TCS iON Corona Warriors is a free six hours, self-paced, self-certification program that can be accessed from anywhere on any device. The program has been specially designed for the paramedical and professional healthcare workers. It also offers profession-specific measures for Nurses, Pharmacists, Receptionists, Laundry, Radiology, Technicians and Biomedical Waste Management Staff. The easy to understand course offers recommendations on various topics such as virtual support practice, infection control policies, mental health education, resident awareness, travel mode sanitization, visitor movement management, social distancing protocols and laboratory testing guidelines by WHO. This has been curated from varied public domain information for a quick and easy understanding.

The course has been designed and curated by medical experts of TCS Lifesciences unit, along with inputs from subject matter experts who are faculty at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The course is digitally available in English and offered through TCS iON Digital Learning Hub. By enrolling in this program, volunteers, COVID-19 support groups, and various public support teams will be able to ensure that their teams and workforce are quickly equipped with the fundamentals of prevention and control measures of COVID-19.

With the rise of the COVID-19 cases, it has become critical for India to prepare its health workers as front-line warriors to deal with the patients and suspects.  This will be one of the proactive response mechanisms that India should be prepared with to effectively deal with this unprecedented pandemic.  With this course, TCS iON aims to equip a large number of current and future health professionals with all the precaution and control measures necessary for the initial handling of COVID-19 cases. At the end of the course is a self-assessment module that provides an objective view of the knowledge level of the health professional to deal with COVID-19 cases.
