GGSIPU hosts free preventive health screening camp

Nearly 600 university employees to benefit from comprehensive health assessments with advanced health pods

New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) took a significant step toward prioritizing employee well-being by organizing a free preventive health screening camp at its Dwarka campus.
The event, held in association with HEAL Foundation, was inaugurated by Dr Mahesh Verma, Vice-Chancellor of the university. Nearly 600 university employees are set to benefit from comprehensive health assessments using state-of-the-art health pods (ATMs).
During the inauguration, Dr. Mahesh Verma expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Preventive healthcare is paramount. This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring the health and well-being of our valued faculty and staff. The positive response has been overwhelming, and we plan to extend this program to our other campuses and colleges in the near future. Regular monitoring of metabolic health vitals is crucial for early detection and prevention of potential health issues.”
The health pods, which resemble ATMs, provide non-invasive screening for 20 vital health parameters, including SpO2, blood pressure (BP), Body Mass Index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio, bone mineral content, pulse, temperature, visceral fat, body cell mass, body fat percentage, weight, and Electrocardiogram (ECG). These metrics are essential for maintaining good health and preventing chronic diseases.
Dr. Swadeep Srivastava, Founder and Chairman of HEAL Foundation, emphasized, “By offering comprehensive preventive health screenings, we are taking a proactive step towards fostering a healthier work environment. We are prepared to extend this service to all campuses of the GGSIP University to ensure no employee is left behind.”
The initiative comes at a time when preventive health measures are globally important. With rising lifestyle diseases, regular health check-ups are imperative. The quick, non-invasive health pod screenings offer immediate results, making them practical for busy professionals. This camp aligns with promoting preventive healthcare and building health awareness, contributing to healthier communities and a more robust workforce.
