New Delhi: Merck has launched its Aarogya health program in the Patalganga region of Raigad district, making a notable impact on local health outcomes. Launched in July, Aarogya aims to enhance community health through thorough screenings, diagnostic support, and heightened health awareness.
Since its launch, the program has significantly benefited approximately 800 residents through health camps organized in Borivali, Sai Nagari, Washivalli, Kaire, and Vadgaon. These camps have provided crucial health screenings, identified primary ailments, and offered diagnostic services to ensure timely treatment. In addition, the program has focused on educating the community about effective health practices and has set up a referral system for ongoing care and support.
The initiative also includes a strategic assessment of health conditions and disease trends in the area, helping to shape future health interventions. Located at Patalganga, Merck Life Science’s advanced facility supports the pharma and biopharma sectors with lab materials and reagents and has been actively engaging with the community since its inception during the pandemic in 2020.
Aarogya, as per the company, is a part of it’s broader commitment to social responsibility, which impacts over 120,000 lives through various programs. These include educational scholarships, access to quality education, healthcare services, and donations of essential medical equipment during emergencies.
