Union minister Giriraj Singh visits Indian Immunologicals

Hyderabad:  Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL), a leading biologicals company in India, hosted Mr Giriraj Singh, Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Government of India at its Gachibowli plant in Hyderabad.

The Minister visited the company and was given a presentation taking him through the various initiatives of the company in manufacturing quality vaccines at affordable prices to ensure better animal health and human health.

The Minister accompanied by a delegation of high officials took a tour of the state-of-the-art automated FMD vaccine manufacturing facility of Indian Immunologicals. The minister was highly impressed with the infrastructure at the facility.

On the visit of the Central Minister, Dr. K. Anand Kumar, Managing Director – Indian Immunologicals said, “Since its inception in 1982, IIL has been working towards producing quality vaccines at affordable costs. We are delighted and highly motivated to have the honorable Minister Mr. Giriraj Singh visiting us. We will take all possible steps as desired by the Minister and assist the Government in working towards eradication of FMD and Brucellosis diseases.”

IIL has 4 manufacturing facilities at various locations – Karkapatla, Telangana – Human Vaccines & Animal Health Formulations; Ooty, Tamil Nadu – Anti Rabies production unit; Hyderabad, Telangana – Human Biologicals Unit (Gachibowli) and animal vaccines unit; Dargaville, New Zealand – Bovine Serum. IIL exports various Human and animal vaccines to over 50 countries and currently employs around 1,300 people.
