New Delhi: In honor of Women’s Equality Day, VitusCare has spotlighted its initiatives to promote gender equality in healthcare. The company has implemented practices encouraging female employees to join its workforce, making dialysis services more accessible and comfortable for women, particularly in underserved Tier 2, Tier 3, and rural areas.
VitusCare, known for its commitment to providing world-class dialysis services across India, has recognized the unique challenges faced by women in these regions. Despite government efforts to make treatment affordable, women often hesitate to undergo regular dialysis due to the predominance of male technicians at many centers. To address this, VitusCare has prioritized the deployment of female technicians wherever possible, creating a more welcoming environment for women patients.
This initiative not only empowers women in the community by providing employment opportunities but also encourages more women to seek regular dialysis care. The presence of female technicians has made a significant impact, with some centers reporting an equal number of male and female patients.
Asha Singh, a dialysis patient from Kanpur, shared, “I used to avoid my dialysis sessions regularly because the travel was exhausting, and I felt uncomfortable with male technicians. Since VitusCare opened a center closer to my home with female technicians, I’ve felt much more at ease. This has made it easier for me to attend my dialysis sessions regularly and take better care of my health.”
Priyanka Yadav, a female technician at a VitusCare center in Uttar Pradesh, expressed, “Working with VitusCare has been a rewarding experience. Being part of a team that prioritizes female technician availability at centres has allowed me to connect with patients on a personal level. It’s fulfilling to see how our efforts make a real difference in female patients’ lives thanks to a supportive work environment.”
VitusCare’s initiatives have garnered praise for both their healthcare impact and their role in fostering local employment. Prabhat Shrivastava, Founder & CEO of VitusCare, emphasized, “By bringing our services closer to communities, we aim to create local employment opportunities for women in the medical field, which is crucial for long-term change in the healthcare sector. Additionally, our female technicians play a vital role in making women patients feel at ease during their visits. This improves the overall patient experience and encourages more women to seek regular dialysis without hesitation.”
