New Delhi: AVPL International has partnered with DeHaat to modernize agriculture by integrating advanced technology with grassroots agricultural expertise which is expected to benefit 27 lakh farmers across the country.
Amrendra Singh, Co-Founder of DeHaat, highlighted, “This partnership with AVPL International aligns perfectly with our mission to empower farmers through cutting-edge technology. By integrating AVPL’s drone and agri-tech solutions with our established network, we aim to significantly enhance the productivity and efficiency of our existing farmer base. This collaboration will not only improve yield but also contribute to the long-term sustainability of the farming practices across our vast network.”
Preet Sandhuu, Founder of AVPL International, expressed, “We are pleased to support DeHaat in its endeavour to empower farmers and make agriculture sustainable in India using advanced technology. Our collaboration with DeHaat is a major step forward in our mission to transform agriculture in India. Together, we aim to provide farmers with the tools and support needed to excel in today’s competitive environment.”
A key component of the partnership is the establishment of a Project Management Unit by AVPL International, which will focus on training and skilling 140,000 candidates. These efforts will promote agri-entrepreneurship by equipping farmers with the expertise to adopt innovative farming practices and advanced technologies.
The training will cover various areas, including drone operation, drone manufacturing, agricultural training, retail, and multi-sector skill development. This initiative will also create “Dronepreneurs” who will be stationed at DeHaat stores to offer Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS), supporting precision farming and data-sharing initiatives over the next three years.
Farmer City International Pvt Ltd (FC), a subsidiary of AVPL International, will play a vital role in this partnership. FC aims to empower farmers and enhance economic opportunities through a unique “phygital” model, combining physical stores with digital platforms. As an aggregator of agri-tech start-ups, FC will provide farmers with training, certification, market linkages, and access to a wide range of agricultural services and products.
As part of the collaboration, AVPL International will offer advanced agricultural technologies integrated with DeHaat’s established network. The initiative will focus on deploying DaaS services across 70 locations, including drone training, and will open stores in agricultural mandis in collaboration with state governments and the National Council of State Agriculture Boards. Each DeHaat store will have a dedicated drone entrepreneur to facilitate these services.
AVPL International’s collaboration with DeHaat builds on its existing partnerships, including its work with the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO). AVPL currently conducts drone spray operations over 50 lakh acres in eight states, including Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. The implementation of this partnership will roll out in phases, starting with key agricultural regions before expanding nationwide.
