New Delhi: In collaboration, the CEF Group, a leading clean energy provider, has joined hands with the Ghaziabad Development Authority and received support from IOCL to launch an ambitious project aimed at redefining urban green spaces. The initiative, known as Urban Farmer, seeks to establish a transformative 2-acre City Forest in Ghaziabad to promote environmental sustainability and enhance community well-being and accessibility.
The City Forest project, set to unfold over the next two years, represents a significant milestone in the endeavor to combat urban pollution and foster biodiversity. Utilizing the Miyawaki technique, the initiative plans to plant 25,000 saplings of native species, strategically chosen to create a resilient ecosystem. This approach not only accelerates the typical forest development timeline but also ensures a diverse and thriving green space. Furthermore, Urban Farmer’s dedication to long-term environmental stewardship is reinforced by a meticulous two-year maintenance strategy, ensuring the continued health and vibrancy of the City Forest.
Maninder Singh, Founder & CEO of CEF Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing, “The City Forest project embodies our collective commitment to sustainable practices and environmental well-being. Through Urban Farmer, we’re not just creating gardens; we’re building boutique forests that enrich urban landscapes and foster a deeper connection with nature.”
The City Forest is poised to address pressing environmental concerns by improving air quality and reducing pollutants. Acting as a natural filter, it will help regulate temperatures, mitigating the urban heat island effect in polluted areas. Moreover, the forest will serve as a communal space for residents, promoting outdoor activities and enhancing the overall quality of life.
Under Maninder Singh’s leadership, Urban Farmer brings a wealth of experience and passion for creating green spaces that transcend traditional boundaries. The City Forest project stands as a beacon of sustainable urban development, showcasing the transformative power of environmental consciousness and innovative technology.
