New Delhi: Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Mr Radha Mohan Singh addressed the closing ceremony of Global Rajasthan Agritech Conference in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Mr Singh has said that Rajasthan has been much ahead in the policy related decisions for last 2 years. Owing to this, this state would be successful to make the farmers income double by the year 2022.
The Agriculture Minister said that Niti Aayog has given Rajasthan third place related to agriculture marketing and farmers oriented improvement index for the year 2016. The agriculture processing and Agriculture Marketing Policy 2015 of the state inspires value addition of agricultural products. It reduces the losses on post harvesting scenario as well as motivate the use of new technologies in the field of agricultural marketing.
Mr Singh added that Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has assisted State Government of Rajasthan to take decision of policy making in this regard. The Government of India has sanctioned for the betterment of indigenous breeding two bulls mother farm in the state. Under insurance coverage of animals the strength of ensured animals has increased from erstwhile two milch animals to five milch ones and five big animals as well as 50 small ones.
The Agriculture Minister said that the “Global Rajasthan Agritech Conference” has got two prominent objectives – the first one is to pave the way of progress for technologies related to agriculture and to bring forth the best methodologies related to agricultural sector in the world before the farmers community and secondly to provide knowhow to the farmers community about the investment proceedings throughout the world.
Mr Singh said a number of schemes have been initiated in the able guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister so as to make the farmers income double. To provide irrigation facilities, to every farm – Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, “under organic farming, to bring more and more area under cultivation, Prampargat Krishi Vikas Yojna, National Agriculture Market, E-NAM to provide better return of farmers produce have been initiated. E-NAM has been commenced while covering 21 mandis spread over 8 states since 14th April 2016. As yet all the 250 mandis situated in 10 states have been linked up with E-NAM, Soil Health Card Scheme had been started at Suratgarh, Rajasthan. As on date against the target of 14 crores Soil Health Cards up to March 2017, so far 3.15 crore Cards have been distributed. This scheme will be conducive for the farmers to take accurate decision related to the appropriate use of fertilizers. With the initiatives taken by Prime Minister, the deficiencies existed in Fasal Bima Yojana have been erased and a new scheme named as Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojanahas been implemented throughout the country.
The Minister stated that for the development and preservation of indigenous bovine species for the first time National Gokul Mission has been started so as to pave the way of preservation and development of indigenous bovine species with scientific methodology. Government has initiated Blue Revolution to take the fisheries sector ahead because it is very much contributive to make the livelihood better for fishermen, fisherwomen and aquaculture. Under Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav to make the rural farming profession as scientific farming the agriculture experts of agriculture universities and ICAR Institutes will be concluded. The government has put stress for setting up a forecast system related to Meteorological Department, capacity building of the scientists and farmers and to provide farmers required facilities of sophisticated technologies.
