New Delhi: SMC College of Dairy Science and its Alumni Association, Anand Agricultural University jointly hosted the 13th National Dairy Products Judging Contest and 9 th National Dairy and Food Quiz Contest during September 16-17, 2016 at Anand to provide necessary exposure in sensory evaluation of milk products as well as to offer a platform for knowledge sharing among students and industries.
In the judging contest, the ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal team comprising Ms Pallavi and Ms Neha Yadav, students of final year B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) was the champion in the team event. Ms Pallavi secured ‘First Position’ in individual category. Three different products, namely, milk, milk powder and ghee were offered for judging with three samples of each. Twenty two teams from all over the country participated in the judging contest.
In the National Dairy and Food Quiz Contest, the ICAR-NDRI team comprising Ms Parul and Ms Sonam Jain, students of final year B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) was the ‘First Runners Up’ in the event. Seventeen teams from various academic institutes in India and different dairy plants from Gujarat took part in Quiz Contest. Prof A K Srivastava, Director and Vice-Chancellor of ICAR-NDRI, Karnal congratulated the team.
