New Delhi: MediBuddy has partnered with Philips to introduce advanced heart health tracking across the country.
This collaboration, unveiled in time for World Heart Day, brings Philips’ AI-powered HeartPrint technology to millions of smartphones, offering a new way for users to monitor and manage their cardiac health, empowering users to take proactive steps toward maintaining their health.
Unlike traditional tests such as ECGs that provide a snapshot of current heart health, the HeartPrint system offers continuous monitoring, tracking key biomarkers over time. This shift to regular, real-time cardiac assessment could save countless lives by enabling early intervention and personalized healthcare strategies.
Satish Kannan, Co-founder and CEO of MediBuddy, emphasized the importance of early detection in preventing heart disease, a leading cause of death in India. “Our partnership with Philips doesn’t just add a feature—it transforms how Indians approach heart health. By providing accessible, advanced tools for cardiac tracking, on the MediBuddy platform accessible through any smart phone we’re enabling millions to take control of their heart health, fostering earlier detection and better outcomes for a healthier nation,” Kannan said.
The heart health tracking process is simple and non-invasive. Users can scan their finger using their smartphone camera via the MediBuddy app, which then analyzes various health indicators, including cardiovascular age, diabetes risk, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) risk, cardiorespiratory fitness index, heart rate analysis, cardiac index, blood pressure variability, and stress disorder prediction. This comprehensive data provides users with insight into their heart health, allowing them to take preventive action before they develop into chronic issues.
This collaboration provides significant benefits for MediBuddy users, allowing them to monitor their heart health without invasive procedures. By tracking biomarkers digitally, they can detect early signs of potential heart issues and seek medical intervention promptly. Moreover, the assessment is accessible at any time and place, making heart health tracking more convenient and ensuring that a broader population can benefit from this technology.
The HeartPrint service offers two main assessments: the Resting Heart Assessment, a five-day process where users track their heart activity for two minutes daily, and the Reactive Heart Assessment, which spans seven days. After completing these assessments, users receive detailed reports highlighting key biomarkers, areas for improvement, and personalized recommendations for maintaining or improving heart health.
Philips’ HeartPrint technology is designed to help users take charge of their well-being by offering continuous heart health tracking at their fingertips. The partnership also aims to reduce healthcare costs. Moreover, the integration will enable MediBuddy’s healthcare network to use population health strategies to promote awareness and make timely referrals.
Adarsh Holavanahalli, Business Venture Leader at Philips, praised the collaboration as a critical step in bringing proactive health solutions to India. “Our health tech expertise is a perfect fit with MediBuddy’s digital health platforms enabling the evolution of a much needed consumer health continuum based on out-of-the-hospital screening, precise digital interventions, early diagnosis and timely clinical care. Proactive health implies accurate decisions from all stakeholders made based on longitudinal health analysis and we are confident that our partnership will set the standards for the industry to adopt and improve,” he said.
