New Delhi: Collaborating with Dial 4242 and the Reliance-powered Visit app, Swiggy has introduced Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and Teleconsultation Services as part of its ‘Delivering Safely’ charter, aimed at ensuring the safety and welfare of its delivery fleet.
The Mobile Medical Units, established in partnership with Dial 4242, offer comprehensive healthcare services directly to Swiggy’s delivery partners at convenient locations. These units provide health check-ups, including vital sign monitoring, identifying underlying health issues, and administering first aid for minor injuries sustained during delivery hours. Additionally, dedicated optometrists conduct vision screenings and eye care services, while health education sessions promote wellness and preventive care practices. Initially launched in Bangalore, the MMUs will be deployed across various locations in the city, benefitting around 200 delivery partners daily.
In addition to the MMUs, Swiggy has partnered with the Reliance-powered Visit app to offer teleconsultation services to all delivery partners and their families. This initiative enables virtual access to specialized doctors in General Medicine, Gynecology, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics, catering to the specific healthcare needs of delivery partners, their spouses, and children. Moreover, delivery partners will have access to prescribed medicines at subsidized rates, ensuring affordable healthcare.
Mihir Shah, Head of Operations at Swiggy, emphasized, “Ensuring the safety and well-being of our delivery partners has always been a priority for Swiggy, leading to many initiatives like on-demand ambulances, paid period time off, telemedicine facilities, and summer recharge zones. The introduction of mobile medical units and teleconsultations is another step in this direction.”
He added, “Our delivery partners are always on-the-go, but their health should not take a backseat. These mobile medical units reach them where they are, encouraging them to prioritize their health. By providing access to essential healthcare services, we aim to promote a culture of wellness among our delivery partners.”
Both initiatives will be expanded to other cities in the coming weeks. This launch builds on the success of previous initiatives like the on-demand ambulance service introduced in 2022, underscoring Swiggy’s ongoing efforts to support health and safety and protect its delivery partners.
