Union Health Minister visits AIIMS Jammu, highlights institution’s role in healthcare

New Delhi: Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda, recently visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Vijaypur in Jammu, emphasizing its pivotal role in transforming healthcare in the region under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at the event, Nadda highlighted the comprehensive development initiatives brought to Jammu & Kashmir, underscoring the significance of collaborative efforts in advancing medical sciences. He emphasized the complementary strengths of allopathy and Ayurveda in improving healthcare outcomes.
Addressing the faculty, residents, staff, and students of AIIMS Jammu, the Union Health Minister commended their dedication and encouraged continued excellence in research and education. He remarked, “AIIMS Jammu is an institution that embodies the aspirations and dreams of countless individuals. It’s a beacon of hope not only for the people of J&K, but also for that of Leh, and other neighboring states like Punjab and Himachal Pradesh”. He pledged full support to the institution in enhancing healthcare access and developing an “AIIMS culture” characterized by selflessness, dedication, competency, integrity, innovation, and trust.
During the visit, Nadda and the dignitaries toured various facilities, including the Digital Library equipped with e-books, e-journals, and advanced research amenities. The distinguished features showcased at the library included carrels for research work, a state-of-the-art digital dashboard, an automated book issue and deposit device and the RFID security gate at the entrance of the Digital Library. 
The Minister also inspected the Outpatient Department (OPD) and appreciated the “Indoor Navigation System” for patients, affirming AIIMS Jammu’s readiness to provide world-class healthcare services to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
