New Delhi: Aster DM Healthcare Limited has unveiled dedicated Pediatric and Geriatric Emergency Departments at Aster MIMS Calicut, marking a significant development in Kerala’s healthcare landscape.
This initiative, inaugurated by Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, introduces the first departments of their kind in the region, emphasizing specialized care for children and the elderly.
The Pediatric Emergency Department offers comprehensive, 24/7 care with a dedicated team of pediatricians and residents in an 8-bed facility, equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. The Geriatric Emergency Department, focusing on the growing need for elder care, features a 10-bed area managed under the guidance of renowned geriatric specialists Dr. Venugopal and Dr. Nadeem Rahman, in collaboration with the Emergency and General Medicine departments.
Dr. Moopen highlighted Aster MIMS Calicut’s recognition as a leading hospital in India, celebrated for its pioneering treatments and inclusion in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospital survey. Dr. Moopen added, “Organically, we plan to add 1700 beds by FY27, significantly increasing our reach and capacity. In Kerala, we have two greenfield projects coming up namely Aster Capital Trivandrum with a 450-bed facility and Aster MIMS Kasargod with 264 beds. Our flagship hospital Aster Medcity will expand to 950+ beds by FY27 as well. In Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh where we have a huge presence, we will be adding beds at Aster CMI in Bengaluru and Aster Ramesh, AP.”
