New Delhi: Genestrings, a leading company in genetic diagnostics and specialized pathology has launched its satellite pathology labs at the Delhi Airport & other nine locations.
The brand simultaneously launched nine other satellite pathology Labs across Delhi-NCR and one in Lucknow. The launch aims at bridging the gap of accessibility in getting reliable diagnostic solutions in the region. With such launch of satellite pathology labs, the brand also ensures faster results with less turnaround time. These labs have been developed adhering to international standards of medical infrastructure and facilities and aim for the best diagnostic solutions by providing holistic solutions for routine pathology, advanced genetics and preventive healthcare. Out of these 10 satellite labs, the national reference lab is set up at Malviya Nagar.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Rajat Arora, Co-Founder of Genestrings said, “What we learned from the pandemic was that ease of access to quality and ethical diagnostic along with timely reporting is key to strengthening the healthcare system. Hence, we intend to make specialized pathology and high-end genetic testing available at affordable prices to all. This is the planned phase one of our larger expansion strategies and we’ll be launching more labs in a Hub & Spoke model across various states soon. Overall, 2022 will be the year of innovation and grassroots penetration with newer diagnostic research & development in-home diagnosis, affordable & easy to implement molecular testing and digital care using IoT.”
Dr Gauri Agarwal, Co-Founder of Genestrings, said, “Addressing and acting upon improving the reporting time for routine tests across NCR, Genestrings is establishing a network of satellite routine pathology labs to make it easier to maintain the turnaround time of 4-6 hours for all routine tests for samples collected from any part of Delhi NCR. The network includes two labs operating 24/7 including one in Delhi Airport Metro Building near T3, which will be a boon for employees working at the airport in a 24/7 work culture and often ignore their health due to odd timings.”
The 24/7 pathology lab at the Metro Building of Indira Gandhi International Airport at Terminal 3 will remain accessible for all the employees of the Delhi airport as well as the people of nearby localities in Gurgaon and Delhi.
Genestrings was the first lab in the country during the pandemic to not only establish an RTPCR testing lab at any International Airport delivering RTPCR results in 4 hours, when even the developed nations were taking 24-48 hours for the results. Genestrings then went on to become one of the largest COVID-19 testing facilities conducting over 12,000 tests per day.
Dr. Gauri Agarwal, further highlighted the use of world-class advanced technology in the laboratories, “As a NABL certified laboratory and a leader in genetic diagnostics we have installed modern molecular biology equipment and use the world’s most advanced technologies like Next-Gen Sequencing and Thermal Cyclers. At our labs, we are able to do absolute quantification, study gene expression, conduct qPCR tests do genotyping etc.”
