New Delhi: Recently, DigiHealth Specialists Inc. (DigiHealth), a subsidiary of Fischer MVL in the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with RiteMED Philippines, Inc. (RiteMED) to support the nation’s Universal Health Care (UHC) program.
The partnership seeks to bridge the gap in affordable, quality healthcare through DigiHealth’s Automated Telehealth Machine (ATM), providing extensive primary care screening, simplifying doctor consultations, and laboratory procedures, particularly targeting remote areas where access to quality healthcare is challenging.
The DigiHealth ATM is an all-in-one health screening machine that conducts a comprehensive body diagnostic of over 60 clinical parameters within seven minutes. It can perform basic vital signs and BMI calculations, sugar level checks, haemoglobin, cholesterol, vision tests, rapid tests for infectious diseases, mental health assessments, and ECGs. The results are consolidated in the patient’s Electronic Health Record and can be displayed directly on WhatsApp or printed from the machine, making complex health data immediately accessible and understandable.
The ATM also integrates teleconsultation with registered doctors, and lab results are sent quickly for faster and clearer diagnosis and medical prescriptions. This innovation augments the shortage of healthcare workers efficiently at an affordable cost, making the Universal Health Care program in the Philippines more attainable.
Atty. Jose Maria A. Ochave, President of RiteMED, emphasized, “RiteMED believes that the UHC program is attainable and relevant to deliver better services that the Filipino people need. RiteMED and DigiHealth are committed to working with local government units for its implementation. RiteMED continuously seeks partnerships such as DigiHealth that enable technology-driven services for faster, more efficient, and more affordable results.”
Fischer MVL Executive Chairman & MD, Ravindran Govindan, expressed, “Our commitment is to make advanced healthcare technologies available and affordable to developing countries like the Philippines. Our vision is to lead the digital healthcare landscape with our proprietary [Multi Spectral Diagnostic Intelligent platform] developed in-house that allows any medical modality to connect to our AI diagnostic platform, offering high-quality yet affordable healthcare to Filipinos. This partnership with RiteMED is a significant milestone in the country’s healthcare industry.”
Joyce Socao, Managing Director and CEO of DigiHealth added: “DigiHealth ATM integrates cutting-edge technologies, including AI-assisted ECG readings and mental health scanners of World Health Organization (WHO) standards and HIPAA compliance. This advanced health kiosk is ready to be introduced to RiteMED pharmacies across the Philippines, supported by real-time analytics and electronic health records, particularly focusing on underserved provinces. On a national level, Digihealth targets to sell at least 10,000 units to reach the target population, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged communities, in support of the Universal Health Care program that is being implemented in the country this year.”
